JKF(Group)Ltd Gain Award at BCI Awards 2009Posted 16/10/2009 A JKF(Group)Ltd project has been awarded a High Commendation at the British Construction Industry Awards 2009, in the catagory "Small Civils Project Up to £3m". Lewisburn Bridge, constructed in Kielder Forest, Northumberland,was one of only 4 projects short-listed for this category. The BCI Awards are widely regarded as some of the industries most well regarded and prestigious, and are rigorously judged over several months by the members of the judging panel, who visit every short-listed site. Constructed in 2008, the works at Lewisburn Bridge included excavation for, and instatement of abutments and anchor blocks. This included installation of steel mesh reinforcements, steel anchors, and fixing of local stone to abutments. JKF was also responsible for all of the steeelwork elements associated with the framework of the bridge, as well as the cladding of non-slip decking and the erection of timber handrails.
