Environmental Policy

JKF Group are committed to working within environmental guidelines and specifications to design and implement sustainable construction methods including the use of recycled materials and assessing the implications of whole life costing and energy management initiatives.

It is company policy to take full account of the environmental implications of its operations, and to protect the natural environment by complying with the spirit as well as the letter of environmental legislation and approved codes of practice, and by co operating with statutory bodies. The Company will take into account environmental effects of planned projects and operations and aims to maintain standards of environmental protection reflecting best industry practice while fostering generally an understanding of environmental issues.

In particular the Company will:

  • Adopt practices, which minimise environmental hazards.
  • Reduce where practicable the level of harmful emissions.
  • Minimise waste in all operations.
  • Include environmental issues in training programmes and encourage the implementation of sound environmental practices.
  • Raise the awareness of environmental issues to ensure they are considered at the early stages of the decision making process.
  • Minimise the generation of emissions and waste.
  • Ensure the safe disposal of waste, including recycling where possible.
  • Conduct internal audits, which take cognisance of environmental issues.
  • Use the best available techniques not entailing excessive cost (BATNEEC) principle when considering the need to prevent, minimise or render harmless the release of pollution to air, land or water.
  • Advise and encourage contractors and sub-contractors to operate to the same standard.

The responsibility for implementing, monitoring and updating this policy lies with the Director.

We are committed to ensuring that our own policy, as part of our ISO based procedures, is implemented and adhered to and the successful completion of a Control questionnaire, including the completion of an Environmental section, is required before we issue any works orders.

Demonstrating or environmental commitment, JKF (Group) Ltd, along with other partners, are working with Helen Nyul, Business and Biodiversity Advisor, from the Business Environment Partnership to implement a biodiversity project at the site of our new office at Methil Dock Business Park.
