Service Being Provided
Upon award of major improvement works at Lochore Meadow Country Park, Lochgelly. The site will require a wide variety of works, such as surfacing, the replacement of existing paved footpaths, the installation of play equipment and landscaping works.
Elements of Work
Key elements of work on this project include the initial taking up of existing rock, concrete and footpaths. Surfacing works will be completed to specification, including the installation of Chinese granite bedding, kerbs and the creation of stairways and mounds.
The play areas will need prepared for use with the installation of fibreglass reinforced plastic and impact absorbing rubber safety surfacing. Some areas will require playground grade sand and wood chip surfacing.
New play equipment will be installed, including some timber play equipment with custom engravings as required. The play equipment sites will require other items to be installed, such as gates, handrails and some signage. Entrance tunnels will also be created using reclaimed railway sleepers and precast concrete tunnels as requires.
Landscaping works will include the formation of grass slopes using alternating layers of reinforcement material. Imported topsoil will be spread as needed, fertilised with slow release fertiliser and seeded with wildflowers. Some shrub planting will also be required.
